Capability Management Induction Day – Online
Defence will be hosting a Capability Management Induction Day on Thursday 4 February 2021 open to all Defence stakeholders. Registration will open in mid-January 2021, so watch this Event post for updates.
The Induction Day is an important part of Defence Transformation Strategy and improving the performance of the capability workforce in delivering the 2020 Defence Strategic Update and the 2020 Force Structure Plan. The Induction provides an excellent opportunity to obtain knowledge of the contemporary capability context and recent changes to policy and guidance. Senior leaders will provide their perspectives across a range of capability matters.
Capability management within Defence has continued to evolve since 2015 First Principles Review. The Induction Day will address these key changes, including the introduction of the Capability Policy Framework, the programmatic approach to capability, the updated force design process (the Defence Capability Assessment Program) and new guidance on interoperability design and assurance.
Where possible, prior to induction day, attendees should familiarise themselves with the Capability Life Cycle Manual version 2.1, and if you have access to the DPN, a series of four short animated videos, available at the Investment Portfolio Management Branch (IPMB) website.
